Mixed Up Live is the name for my solo activities as a saxophonist. For a party or event I can be booked in combination with a DJ. I can take this Dj with me but I can play along with a Dj that you book yourself. My show is based on improvisation and that means that I do everything on my hearing and feeling. My knowledge of music and the saxophone means that I can immediately respond to the music of every Dj. So it is immediately Live In The Mix …
In principle I play with all music styles. But there is a limit. Hard extreme music styles such as hardstyle, hardcore, hard house, or hard rock do not suit the saxophone. These are not the usual music styles for a party. But my experience allows me to play along with many styles such as house, soul, funk, jazz, rock ‘n roll, pop, dance, and much more.
I play various sets in a period of about 3 hours. Only that can not be indicated in advance. The interaction with the DJ, the music and what the audience wants is the guiding principle for my saxophone.
Sometimes a party has to come on and you can not yet start because the public is still having a drink. But the sax can also be too much. I try to dose a lot in my game and to find the interaction with the dancing audience. If it is too much in my opinion, I automatically take a break. It may also be that the DJ wants to turn in a direction with a style that is less suitable for the saxophone. Then I consult with the DJ and come back later in the evening with extra energy and the right numbers to let the roof go.

In addition to my saxophone, it is important that the equipment is professional. There are many sound companies that can put down good quality soundtracks or your party or event. I myself have my own wireless microphone and in-ears. I connect everything directly to the mixer of the DJ or the sound company.
Prior consultation is always important and I would like to have contact in advance with the Dj or the sound company that takes care of everything.
